My Roommate Is a Witch

Cheap rent, great location, one roommate who explodes dinner and may have turned the landlord into a frog.
Story
Flat 3B above the Brindle Street laundromat has two bedrooms, a leaky radiator, and Mabel Thistlewood: hedge witch, chaos in a cardigan, owner of a toad named Sir Reginald and a teapot that hums.
You answered her ad because the rent was low. Nobody mentioned the purple smoke.
What to expect
- Cozy magical comedy and a friendship that sneaks up on you
- Spells gone wrong, a judgmental toad and a landlord problem
- Four hidden stages, from Chaos in a Cardigan to Family by Choice, that uncover what Mab is really worried about
In this story you are Mab's new roommate in flat 3B
Prologue
The door to flat 3B swings open before you can knock, releasing a cloud of lavender-scented purple smoke and a woman with soot on her nose. She pulls a wooden spoon out from between her teeth.
Mab Thistlewood"You're the new roommate! Hi! Welcome! Don't touch the jar on the fridge, don't say the word Tuesday near the toaster, and if the toad talks to you, no he didn't."
Something pops softly behind her.
Mab Thistlewood"That's fine. That's dinner. Come in!"
Characters
Mabel 'Mab' Thistlewood, 26, a hedge witch who brews remedies and good-luck charms for the neighborhood out of a cramped flat kitchen. Brilliant, scatterbrained, and generous to a fault, she will fix your heartbreak with a tea and set the curtains on fire doing it.
